Also called Corolla Lighthouse it began operation December 1, 1875 the beacon of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse filled the gap on the North Carolina coast between the Cape Henry light to the north and Bodie Island to the south. Its exterior uses a thousands of bricks. The Corolla light stands 158 feet high and flashes every 20 seconds.

The lighthouse was automated in 1939. Today it makes a great tourist stop. With quaint beachy shops, some of the best BBQ and baked beans in North Carolina and a wild horses of Corolla Museum.
